After conducting a deliberative, thoughtful, transparent and open process, I am pleased to inform you that the New Haven Board of Education has named Garth Harries as the next superintendent of schools. Now that a new superintendent has been named, we will continue to ensure that our school district, working with students, parents, teachers, administrators and staff are all aligned to continue the important work of School Change. Applications are now available for the Fall 2013 session and are due by August 23rd. For more information and for applications, please click here Extended Tax Office Hours to Accommodate Taxpayers; Taxes Due by August 1 The first installments of Real Estate, Personal Property and Special Services District tax and the total Motor Vehicle tax on the Grand List of 2012 are now due and payable during the month of July, 2013. In order to accommodate tax payers, the Tax Office will be open on Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 9:00 am to Noon and will have extended hours from Monday, July 29, 2013 through Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Any taxpayer who has not received a bill should visit the City of New Haven website or contact the Tax Office, as failure to receive a bill a bill does not exempt you from payment, interest or collection costs. Unpaid taxes will be considered delinquent as of August 2, 2013.
